Illamasqua Loella + Rage Stamping
Hm so let me start by saying I don't really like this. It started as a tape mani with Rage angled at the tips - and that looked fine. But of course I had to go one step further, and meh, not crazy about it, but I can see how with a different stamp or a different base color it would look neat.

NOTD: Fantasy Fire
This was actually a NOTD a few weeks ago, but it was a NOTD at one point so it counts right? Right?
I'm still wearing Smitten Polish's The One on the Right and just can't take it off, it's so pretty.
Anywho, I got Max Factor's Fantasy Fire courtesy of one of my buddies across the pond. I normally see it layered over blue or black but due to my combined love for neons, fuschia and jellies I decided to layer it over China Glaze's Under the Boardwalk from the Summer Neons collection (This goes on beautifully, by the way - I only used one coat under the FF). This combo wasn't very durable for whatever reason, but I got a few days of ogling it before it chipped ;) Please ignore my owies, I hurt myself at work :(

Smitten Polish Winter Is Coming + The One on the Right
Hi guys!
So one of my new favorite discoveries is Smitten Polish. Noelie makes the cutest combos and I can't wait to wear them all!
First up I have Winter is Coming. I thought this was so cute, like a Wedgwood plate color scheme (Even though I know it's supposed to be one of her GoT polishes). This is 3 coats below, if you wanted less of a layered look you could wear it over white with one coat.
Next I have The One on the Right. It's this goooorgeous cornflower blue with blue and purple glitters, and it's just this squishy glitter goodness. This is 3 coats below, I probably could have managed with two if I painted carefully.
Noelie's blog has swatches of her complete line, updates on her restocks and preorder info when she's running one! The preorder for her new Confection collection may still be up. It's gorgeous so I recommend everyone to check it out!

1. When did you fall in love with makeup?
When I was 12 and my mom wouldn't let me wear it :p We want what we can't have! There's still weeks here and there where I won't wear any, though, just as a palate refresher.

Sweden, my motherland :p

Datacenter architecture/network planning. I mean the technical side, not the hammer and nails side :p

I got tired of the constant upkeep so I decided to go natural, at first it wasn’t pretty but a year of vitamins, scrubs, cuticle cream and obsessive nail care later I think I’m doing better ;)
7. What is your favorite Olympic sport? (summer or winter)
The BF teases me for this - the equestrian sports!

I’m going through a milky-base-with-glitter-obsession phase.

Ah I couldn't narrow it down. I feel like I like a lot of different blogs for very different things - one girl is really funny, one takes great true-to-color swatches, one shares my nail art aesthetic, etc. Plus I find new pages to like every day!

Oh man. Nfu Oh 51 I guess...that'd just be rough though :)

For basecoat I use Butter London Nail Foundation and for topcoat I use Gelous followed by Seche Vite.
7.What is the maximum amount you would spend on one polish?
Probably around $30 :)
8. What was your best polish bargain?
One of my old SH Prisms that was freeeeee. I didn't even realize it was cool until a few months ago.
9. What is the most expensive nail polish in your collection?
Probably KOH Blue Universe.

Urban Decay Toxin!

About a year ago! I decided to stop getting acrylics and needed something else to keep from biting my nails.

NOTD: Pink Glitter French
For the last four days (don't ask!) I've been wearing a matte gunmetal grey, so I thought that something light and girly would be a nice change of pace. I painted on tips with Revlon Sugar Glaze, covered that with 2 coats of OPI Coney Island Cotton Candy then sponged with Revlon Sparkling. The whole shebang took me about an hour, which is good because Mr. K was getting tired of waiting to play video games with me (haha).
Pros? I think it's cute, sparkly and Sugar Glaze is from the Scented Treats collection and smells nice. Cons? The whole thing didn't really dry well. I had to be careful for the night. I need to make a spreadsheet of which quick-dry topcoats play well with which polishes, because I keep forgetting and Revlon + ChG quick dry = hello shrinking.

Patchwork Madness!
I did this one a while back but for a first attempt, I wouldn't say it's too bad! I used this lovely patchwork tutorial at Chloe's Nails and while it was time consuming, it was super easy! One tip, don't use the matte finish tape...use the "invisible" tape and stick it to your hand a few times like she advises in the tutorial. The matte finish tape bubbled up on me a lot when I tried it since my nails are so curved. If you do this, you're gonna have a bad time. (Read that in Thumper the Ski Instructor's voice from South Park.)
Mr. K picked the colors. I had him pick because prior to this, I was wearing a SUPER BORING (his words) pastel tape french mani. He did a good job though, because he picked two Kleancolor metallics, Red and Blue (which are red and blue, incidentally.) The Kleancolor metallic series is mostly comprised of vibrant, one coater polishes; this is good, because the last thing I wanted to be doing on my first patchwork was multiple coats of each layer. (Most of the Kleancolor metallic series can be seen here: The Edge of Sanity: Kleancolor Metallics.) Long story short, these are a good choice for a lot of things, including stamping.
I started with the red since the other two colors were more opaque. The blue came next and then the black, with a coat of Seche Vite and 10 minutes in between each tape layer. Like the tutorial says, pull the tape off while the polish is still wet. The lines are much cleaner this way. Patchwork manis are the perfect way to only spend an hour on your nails but still get loads of compliments and disbelieving gasps that "you did that yourself?!" I want to try a braid next.

Once Upon A Polish & Icebound Proto :)
Every so often I'm so inspired by something I see that I'll go hunt the right colors down to recreate that particular look. But other times, something perfect just falls into my lap! I originally went to Once Upon A Polish's Etsy shop looking for Scuttle, but I saw Grumpy and immediately thought of my WoW priest's mount of choice, the Icebound proto drake from ICC. Mr. K thought I should do a comparison shot so I put them side by side in a collage. My hands are looking a little beat up in the pictures, oops. My dog likes to use my fingers as a chew toy.
I really enjoy her polishes. They've got adorable fantasy, fairy tale and Disney inspired names, she ships super fast and they all come in cute little bags. Grumpy was pretty thick, which was nice because I wanted that "armored" look. It was smooth after a few coats of topcoat, and I wore this for over a week (see above, busy with finger-chewing dog :p) and just had some tipwear.
Recently I picked up Princess and the Pea as well as aforementioned Scuttle so I'll be back with a trip report soon.
